Pin High, favourites of the month
August 2026
August was the month golf dressed for autumn early, with old craft in new places: work-boot leather, Japanese denim, archive intarsia and merino-cashmere.
Picked for the archive: Pin High started in October 2026, and these are our favourites from that period, chosen afterwards.

Students x PAYNTR WT
Green-toe stingray-effect leather made this the boldest shoe of August. It needs plain trousers in stone or navy and nothing else in colour.

Birdie Battalion Landscape Intarsia Sweaters
Golfers knitted into a landscape on the chest: a Munsingwear-era idea brought back in merino and sold online first in small numbers. Nothing else this month had as much charm.

Hogan Q-Zip Sweater
Eight per cent cashmere is enough to change how a midlayer feels. The Ivory version with navy tipping is the smartest of the five colours.

Hello Skully Polo
Mark & Lona's second Hello Kitty round puts a made-for-the-collab skull logo on a black polo. Quantities are limited and sales run through its Japanese stores and online, so do not wait.

Ariadne Knit Quarter Zip
J.Lindeberg designed this for golf, the city and the slopes, and the fine pointelle knit with pink and white stripes really does suit all three. It is the best women's layer of the month.

GDC Denim Quarter Zip
Light blue chest band on navy chambray, made in Japan with GDC. Denim on the course sounds odd until you see how soft this cotton looks.

The tour staff's own forged muscle back, raw and unplated and made in very small numbers. Worth having for the look alone.
